STDs can bring so much danger and harm to our bodies that it is always stressed how important it is to steer clear of their way, to learn how to effectively prevent them.

There are many different kinds of sexually-transmitted diseases today and they are caused by various factors. They can be prevented by practicing the following measures. Of course, the best way to prevent STDs is to not have sex, but if that is not possible, here are some pretty good alternatives:

Vaccines

There are vaccines available for some STDs, such as the viral ones: Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and certain types of HPV. The vaccination should occur before engaging in any kind of sexual activity to ensure maximum efficiency.

Condoms

Since a lot of STDs get passed on from one person to another through the exchange of bodily fluids, the use of condoms prevents the transmission of the infections via sexual fluids. Make sure to use the good brands as it is possible for condoms to break and put you and your partner at risk.

STD testing

Testing for STDs should be done every time you have a new sex partner or at least once a year to keep you updated on your sexual health.
