Hello again Gentlemen, today we are going to have a look at why there are times when your testes will become inflamed and painful. So let’s get settled and I will proceed to tell you.
When either one or both of your testes become inflamed the medical term for this is Orchitis. This can be something that happens to you when you when there is a presence of other bacteria’s which is the highest possible way for you to develop this illness.
Bacteria to blame for inflammation
Those bacteria which are on the list to cause this inflammation of your testes are,
- Escherichia coli.
When these bacteria find their way into your body and begin to attack and cause the outward signs of swelling they could also cause you to develop an infection in your prostate.
STDs can cause Orchitis
It is also possible that any Sexually Transmitted Disease or STD bacteria can lead to you developing orchitis. The STDs that are known to cause this are Chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. Signs of having swollen testes are more likely to pop up in makes of 18-35 years old who are having an active sex life and do not use condoms.
It is also known that certain viruses such as mumps can also mean that you can also have orchitis, mumps usually affects boys who are in their teenage years and swollen testes may be seen present at around four days from the actual beginning of the infection which causes the mumps. Males who have received the mumps vaccine will not suffer, but those who have not will as their immune system will not have the required antibodies to do so.
Treatment of Orchitis early on
If any signs of orchitis or swollen testes are not treated straight away, at first sight, the swelling can also be spread as far as the groin. It is prudent to visit a doctor at once so treatment can begin as soon as possible.
As we saw earlier certain types of STDs can bring on orchitis or the swelling of your testes, to avoid this you should go to a sexual health clinic and ask to be tested for an STD so again you can avoid the painful swelling of your testes.
